From Khiva to Samarkand, all the Silk Road

At nightfall, the moon lights the top of minarets, domes of mosques and madrasas of monumental gates in city stages of the Silk Road. Khiva, the oasis of Khorezm, Bukhara, the beauty of the spirit and Samarkand, pearl of Transoxiana that immerse you in an atmosphere of the "Thousand and One Nights". We will also cross the Kyzylkum desert to stay in a Kazakh yurt and explore the steppe camel. a journey of contrasts, mixing the sincere hospitality of the Uzbek people, the discovery of a rich cultural heritage and crossings of large desert areas of Central Asia.

Day 1: From Flight to Tashkent

Day 2: Tashkent (BLD)
Arrival in the morning Full day city tour of Tashkent: the old town and Victory Park, Independence Square Kukeldash Madrasa, the picturesque market Tchorsu ... Visit the Museum of Applied Arts to the rich collections of Russian art, icons, ceramics and royal costumes. The afternoon continued with visits Abdul Kasim madrassah currently occupied by artisans, Amir Temur's place (Tamerlane), where local artists are presented and metro Tashkent. Overnight in Tashkent.

Day 3: Tashkent - Urgench - Khiva (30 km) (BLD)

Day 4: Khiva - Bukhara (480 km) (BLD)
By car: 470 km (7-8 hours)
Departure to Bukhara at 8:30.
During a hundred kilometers, we pass through the villages of the Khorezm region and through the desert Kizil Kum in (Red Sand). Some stops are planned for photos and lunch in one of the "Chaykhana" - Oasis cafe. The particular beauty of the desert Asian center takes us back to the times of caravans that crossed the sea of sand camel.
Arrive in Bukhara late in the afternoon.

Day 5: Bukhara (BLD)
The whole day is dedicated to the discovery of the old part of Bukhara. Most attractions of Bukhara are concentrated in the old city of Chakhristan and explored on foot. First, Ismail Samani mausoleum (9th-10th century), the oldest building in the city and one of the most beautiful jewels of Uzbekistan, mausoleum Chashma Ayub then (12th-14th century) Overall Bola Hauz (18th century) and the Citadel Ark. The symbol of the Bukhara Emirate stands in all its majesty on the square of Registan and recalls the terror of Mang'it time. Residence of the lords of Bukhara, the Ark is as old as Bukhara itself. Day 6: Bukhara (BLD)
After breakfast, you set off to explore the surroundings of Bukhara. The sacred site Bakhaoudin Nakshbandi (16th century) which is buried one of the founders and one of the most revered Sufi saints of Islam, then you visit the summer residence of the last emir "Setora-i-Mokhi Khosa "(19th century).
Continuation of the visit by the Madrassah Chor Minor (early 19th century), one of the most attractive buildings and the strangest of Bukhara.
Free time to stroll through the narrow streets of the old town or enjoy the beautiful hammam Bukhara (14th century).

Day 7: Bukhara - Guijdouvan - Yangi Gazgan (240 km) (BLD)
We leave at 9am to the village of Abu-Abdulloh Guijdovani - Guijdovan (70 km) which is famous for his fine ceramics.
On the way visit the small town of Nurata where you can climb the hill of Alexander the Great, and visit the Nomozgokh mosque and the sacred spring "Chashma". Arrival at the yurt camp around 17:00. Free time to watch the sunset in the desert. Camel rides in the desert.

Day 8: Yangikazgan - Samarkand (170 km) (BLD)
Breakfast, departure to the capital of Tamerlane's empire, arrived around noon in Samarkand and accommodation at the hotel. Afternoon discovery of the capital of the empire of Temourides. Visit of Gur-Amir Mausoleum and Registan Square, the most imposing complex of Central Asia and one of the most beautiful of Islam. It was the nerve center of the capital of Tamerlane, where six arteries met under the dome of a bazaar. It consists of three magnificent madrasahs: Oulougbeg, Cher-Dor, Tilla-Kari.

9th day: Samarkand (BLD)
The whole day is dedicated to the discovery of the capital of the empire of Timur or Tamerlane. Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan and Tamerlane were his conquerors made it his capital. Its domes and blue mosaic still subjugate today's travelers. Visit the observatory Ulugbek, Shakhi Zinda necropolis, a silk carpet workshop (suzani).
Continuation of the visit with Syab market and Bibi Khanum mosque.

Day 10: Samarkand - Tashkent (285 km) (BLD)
Transfer: 285 km by the high speed train (2h15)
Morning departure for the village of Khartang and visit the magnificent mausoleum of Imam Bukhari, one of the most important pilgrimage sites of Uzbekistan. In the afternoon visit the paper mill and the carpet. Free time. 16 hours to transfer to the station to take the high speed train Tashkent - Samarkand. Arrival in Tashkent at 19:15.
Day 11: Tashkent - Paris (BL.)
Free time according to your flight time to stroll through the city at your own pace. Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
